Dispensing Stations

The safe filling and decanting of water-polluting liquids requires special measures and equipment. With its dispensing stations, DENIOS offers a reliable solution for optimising the handling of hazardous materials and minimising risks. The use of suitable spill pallets also effectively prevents uncontrolled leakage of liquids.

Safe filling and decanting of water-polluting liquids

Storing hazardous materials containers with water-polluting liquids in or on suitable spill pallets can prevent uncontrolled leaks or cracks. A spill pallet can already significantly increase safety when storing water-polluting substances. Leaks or cracks in hazardous materials containers, for example drums or IBCs, are not a problem because the liquids are collected. In this way, the substances are prevented from entering the sewage system or the ground.

How can this be utilised in everyday operations such as filling and decanting? With just a few accessories, you can expand your DENIOS spill pallet into a fully-fledged filling station. Filling stands or a filling platform specially adapted to the dimensions of the tray are usually sufficient. Using drum accessories such as taps or pumps, substances can be safely filled from the stored container into other containers. The spill pallet fulfils a dual function: it protects the stored goods in the event of any leaks and at the same time catches any drips. Customers do not have to assemble the individual components of the filling stations themselves. DENIOS offers them in a wide range of variants as complete sets.

What material should the dispensing station be made of?

The material of the spill pallet depends on the substances that are to be stored and filled. There is a simple rule of thumb: anything that melts at high temperatures is not suitable for flammable substances, and anything that corrodes metals must not be stored on a steel tray. As the supplier of the largest range of certified spill pallets, DENIOS offers the right base for every conceivable filling situation. The options are correspondingly diverse

  • Steel dispensing stations for drums
  • PE dispensing stations for drums
  • Steel dispensing stations for IBCs
  • PE dispensing stations for IBCs

Depending on requirements, DENIOS dispensing stations can be designed for single or multiple containers. Solutions for up to 3 IBCs in a row are available in steel or PE, for example.

What needs to be considered when filling?

Firstly, it must be ensured that all relevant safety precautions and protective measures are strictly adhered to. Only accessories and pumps that are specially designed for the liquids to be stored may be used. Suitable explosion protection measures are essential, especially for highly flammable liquids. These include explosion-proof work equipment such as special pumps, extraction systems or earthing cables to prevent possible sparking. In addition, the working environment should comply with legal requirements, such as the presence of adequate ventilation and emergency equipment. When handling hazardous materials, suitable occupational safety measures must also be taken into account. This means that employees must be equipped with protective equipment such as gloves, safety goggles and suitable clothing to minimise the risk of injury or contamination. Regular inspection of equipment is also important to ensure maximum safety.
